Sub Pop re-released PJ's debut album Shallow in October 2014. (It's remastered!!)

I'm going with my top ten Philadelphian businesses for 2015. Now that the Pope shined a light on our wonderful city, I figured I'd offer up a sort of tour-guide for anyone passing through.

In no particular order:

  • Joan Shepp (longstanding clothing boutique, the most forward-thinking a working-class city like Philadelphia is allowed to get. Exciting new mens selection too)

  • V Street (essential all-vegan tapas restaurant with seasonal soft-serve)

  • Profond Music N Art (new record shop focusing on house/techno, easily browsable and welcoming)

  • Khyber (best vegan fried chicken po-boy in the city, plus Randy works there and gives everyone free drinks (shh))

  • Han Dynasty (Fantastic szechuan with a charming weed-addicted narcissist owner)

  • Je Ne Sais Quoi (promising upscale consignment clothing store)

  • Cheu Noodle Bar (killer hand-drawn noodles and fresh juices)

  • Hip City Veg (vegan (are you sensing a trend?) quick food spot with relentlessly good sandwiches)

  • Millesime (with the addition of the Ligne Roset showroom, Millesime's carefully curated furniture deeply speaks to me)

  • Cafe Bambon (vegan empanadas, best in the biz)
